Summer Assignments 2023

Incoming Freshmen (Class of 2027)

Please note: Freshman IXL login information will be mailed and emailed the week of June 5 along with verification of math course for 2027.

  • All freshmen have been assigned work on IXL to practice their math skills over the summer. The work can be accessed at www.ixl.com/signin/rogerbahs. Instructions for logging in to IXL will be mailed and emailed to all students. This video contains a tutorial for getting started in IXL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PsuD8X3YOY. See the document posted online for more information and the list of skills to practice. YOU MUST LOG INTO YOUR IXL ACCOUNT FIRST IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PROGRESS GETS RECORDED!!!   • English 9 Honors students please read A Separate Peace by John Knowles.

Rising Sophomores (Class of 2026)

  • All sophomores have been assigned work on IXL to practice their math skills over the summer. See the document posted online for more information and the list of skills to practice.   • English 10 CP and CC students please read Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds
  • English 10 Honors students please read Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
  • AP® Government students please read The Declaration of Independence and answer the questions/follow directions, including the work on the right side of the text found within the worksheet. Students will also complete a Constitution Scavenger Hunt. Students can use the Constitution online http://constitutionus.com/ or buy a pocket constitution at a local book store. Please note that this assignment is due the first day of class. Both assignments are posted online below.

Rising Juniors (Class of 2025)

  • All juniors have been assigned work on IXL to practice their math skills over the summer. See the document posted online for more information and the list of skills to practice.   • All juniors please read Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza for their Theology class. Questions to complete were passed out at the end of the school year and can be found online via link below.

  • AP® US History students read chapters 1 - 5 in Alan Brinkley, The Unfinished Nation. Students must complete a quiz over each chapter and mail their completed scantron sheets to Dr. Wittekind at Roger Bacon High School by Wednesday, August 9. There will be a test covering this material on the second day of school.

Rising Seniors (Class of 2024)
