2025 Summer Assignments
Incoming Freshmen (Class of 2029)
Please note: Freshmen IXL login information (same as RB email username and password) and instructions for logging into IXL will be emailed in late May along with verification of math and English courses.

- English 9 CP and CC students read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.
- English 9 Honors students read The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.
Sophomores (Class of 2028)

- English 10 Honors students read Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Government students read The Declaration of Independence and complete the worksheet and a Constitution Scavenger Hunt distributed at the end of the year. Students can use the Constitution online http://constitutionus.com/ or buy a pocket constitution at a local book store. Please note that this assignment is due the first day of class.
Juniors (Class of 2027)

US History students read chapters 1 - 5 in Alan Brinkley, The Unfinished Nation. Students must complete a quiz over each chapter and mail their completed scantron sheets to Dr. Wittekind at Roger Bacon High School by Monday, August 11. There will be a test covering this material on the second day of school.
- AP® Psychology Students will complete the Unit 0 (Chapters 1-3) reading provided via email from Mr. James. As they read, students should complete the Unit 0 study guide questions that will be distributed at the end of the school year. There will be a Unit 0 quiz shortly after the start of the school year. Seniors (Class of 2026)

students will read Chapter 13, 14, 15, 18, and 19 in Bentley and Ziegler, Traditions & Encounters. Students must complete a quiz over each chapter and mail their completed scantron sheets to Dr. Wittekind at Roger Bacon High School by Monday, August 11. There will be a test covering this material on the second day of school.

Any student who would prefer a hard copy of the reading should see Mr. James before leaving for summer break. As they read, students should complete the Unit 0 study guide questions that will be distributed at the end of the school year. There will be a Unit 0 quiz shortly after the start of the school year.
