About
In 1928, Roger Bacon and Our Lady of the Angels (OLA) high schools opened their doors as part of the new archdiocesan high school system established by Archbishop McNicholas. From that date until 1984, both schools operated within sight of each other and were integral parts of the educational scene in the Village of St. Bernard and the City of Cincinnati.
Starting with the 1984-85 school year, OLA officially closed its doors and Roger Bacon became coeducational. Even though the OLA school building was eventually demolished, the spirit of OLA remains alive and well at Roger Bacon High School.
Below are examples of how the spirit and memory of OLA are present in our school community on a daily basis. As we approach our 100th anniversary, we always remember that Roger Bacon was built “on the shoulders of giants”... and those giants come from both Roger Bacon and Our Lady of the Angels high schools!
