Ron Meister Endowed Scholarship

Honoring the Legacy of Ron Meister

Ron Meister was far more than a volunteer football coach at Roger Bacon High School - he was a mentor, a servant leader, and a living example of faith, perseverance, and selfless love.

Known affectionately throughout the Roger Bacon community as “Mr. Positive,” Ron approached every day with gratitude and purpose, no matter the challenge before him. Whether his role involved setting up cameras, doing laundry, managing equipment, encouraging players, or simply being present when someone needed support, Ron never sought recognition. He simply gave - fully and generously.

A man of faith, Ron believed that football was about far more than the scoreboard. To him, the true victories were found in the lessons young men learned about hard work, resilience, brotherhood, and lifting one another up when life became difficult. He lived those lessons himself, even while bravely battling cancer.

During his fight, Ron continued to show up for others - encouraging players, checking in on alumni, and reminding everyone that faith over fear was more than a slogan; it was a way of life. His courage inspired countless student-athletes, coaches, families, and friends. Even in the most difficult moments, Ron chose hope and positivity.

Ron’s impact extended beyond the field. He built lasting relationships rooted in trust, kindness, and authenticity. Former players often speak of the quiet text messages, the words of encouragement, and the steady presence that helped them through their own struggles. Ron understood that we are all fighting something, and he believed that simple acts of human kindness could ease even the greatest suffering.

Ron passed away after a courageous five year battle with cancer on January 2nd, 2026. But his spirit, values, and example live on - in every player he encouraged, every coach he supported, and every life he touched.

To honor Ron’s extraordinary legacy, the Meister family has the hope of establishing the Ron Meister Endowed Scholarship.

This scholarship will ensure that Ron’s spirit of service, faith, and positivity continues to shape future generations of Spartans. Endowed scholarships are permanent - meaning Ron’s name and values will live on forever, providing annual support to students who embody the qualities he lived every day.
