Endia White

Class of 2021

One amazing part of Roger Bacon is the fact that students can be involved in a wide range of activities. Endia White ‘21 is a perfect example of a young woman doing just that. As a member of Student Senate, Community Outreach Board, and captain of the Ultimate Frisbee team, Endia has pursued a diverse range of opportunities available at RB. Endia excels in school and her extracurricular commitments, while always staying genuinely humble and giving her time and energy to helping others.

Endia White is an Assisi Scholar, even though she did not begin her freshman year in the honors program. “When I started high school, I wasn’t sure what to expect,” Endia said. “I didn’t know much about the honors program, but my teachers noticed that I was doing really well in my classes. I moved up to honors math, and then eventually started taking all honors-level classes.” As an Assisi Scholar, Endia knows the academic expectations are high, and she enjoys the challenge and opportunities that honors and AP classes offer her.

Endia’s social studies teacher, Mr. Ben James, praised her dedication in the classroom and all-around positive attitude. Mr. James said, “Endia is incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, and hard-working. She is one of the most respectful students I have had the pleasure of interacting with at Roger Bacon. Endia truly embodies the “good kid” that we strive to produce at Roger Bacon.”

As a member of Community Outreach Board, Endia leads the St. Clement Food Pantry service project. She enjoys spending time at the St. Clement food pantry because she sees many of the same families each time she volunteers. She has gotten to know many of the people who come to the food pantry, and it helps her see and appreciate the impact of this service. Theology teacher Mr. Adam Couch has noticed Endia’s leadership and compassion first hand: “Endia is willing to step up and lead. When I look around, I see her always helping others out, whether it’s leading a service group, leading a class discussion, or initiating a class conversation. She does not do this to seek glory or praise, but out of the goodness of her heart. You can always count on her!”

One teacher that has had a significant impact on Endia is Mrs. Meghan Stevens, her French teacher. Endia explained, “Madame Stevens has really inspired me to love the French language and French culture. I never took French in grade school, so it was a bit of a leap of faith to try French when I came to high school. Madame Stevens makes class interesting and fun, and I definitely want to continue studying French after high school.”

Endia loves to travel—last year, her interest in French culture led her to joining the Roger Bacon Europe Trip. Along with several classmates, Endia explored France and Spain, practicing her language skills while visiting cultural landmarks in Paris, Barcelona, and more. One of her favorite memories was visiting the Eiffel Tower. She said, “It looks big in pictures, but seeing the Eiffel Tower up close was amazing.” To make the trip even better, Endia’s mom and grandma joined her - they were able to experience so many amazing places together, and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Roger Bacon is made up of many faces, different faces. We hope to showcase as wide a range of our Spartans as possible. If you would like to nominate a Spartan, past or present, to be featured as a Face of RB, please click here.
