Christina (Hibbitt) Davis ’04 – A Recipe for Sweet Success

Christina (Hibbitt) Davis ’04 has turned a simple love of baking into a thriving business and community staple. She is the Owner and CEO of Davis Cookie Collection, a company she co-founded with her husband, Miles, in 2013 while pursuing her graduate degree at the University of Cincinnati. What began as sharing homemade cookies with classmates has grown into a business known for its gourmet cookies, shakes, and desserts, all made from scratch with high-quality ingredients.

Despite challenges, Christina and her family have achieved major milestones. In 2020, during the uncertainty of the pandemic, they opened their first storefront. In 2023, they expanded with a cookie truck that quickly became a local favorite, bringing their desserts directly to neighborhoods and events. Most recently, Davis Cookie Collection entered the retail grocery market with frozen cookie dough, now available at four Kroger locations across Cincinnati. Each milestone reflects not only business growth but also resilience, faith, and the power of hard work.

The Roger Bacon Influence

Christina credits Roger Bacon with preparing her for the challenges of entrepreneurship. “The school’s environment emphasized discipline, responsibility, and respect—values that became the foundation of how I lead my business and interact with others,” she explains. Her experiences helped her develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, giving her confidence in leadership roles. The challenging curriculum and community atmosphere instilled the discipline and determination she still relies on today.

Lessons from Teachers and Activities

Christina points to several experiences that shaped her. Playing on the bowling team taught her accountability and teamwork, lessons that continue to guide how she works with her staff. Academically, Mr. Butts’ math class sharpened her problem-solving skills, while Sr. Diaz’s Spanish class broadened her cultural perspective. Even computer class—where she improved her typing speed and comfort with technology—proved invaluable in college and later as a business owner. Collectively, these experiences provided both practical skills and personal growth.

Memorable Experiences

Two memories stand out from Christina’s time at Roger Bacon. First, she recalls dissecting a frog in science class, pushing through discomfort because she didn’t want to let her team down. That lesson in perseverance—doing hard things for the greater good—remains with her today as a business owner facing unexpected challenges. She also remembers an eye-opening project where students slept overnight in boxes outside the school to experience what homelessness might feel like. That night instilled gratitude for life’s essentials and deepened her commitment to community service, which remains a core value of Davis Cookie Collection.

Advice to Current Spartans

Christina encourages today’s students and graduates to chase their dreams boldly. “No dream is too big if you’re willing to put in the effort,” she says. She emphasizes the importance of persistence, learning from failure, and surrounding yourself with supportive people. She also reminds students to take care of their mental health while staying focused on their goals.

Carrying Forward Franciscan Values

The values instilled at Roger Bacon taught Christina that success is earned through discipline and hard work. “Many of my classes were challenging, requiring me to study diligently,” she recalls. “That experience taught me that success isn’t handed to you, it’s something you earn.” Today, she applies that mindset to every business challenge, from supply chain hurdles to launching new products.

A Journey of Growth

Since graduating from Roger Bacon, Christina has continued to grow personally and professionally. With a foundation of perseverance and faith, she pursued higher education, launched and expanded Davis Cookie Collection, and built a life with her husband, Miles. Together, they are raising three children, who inspire them daily and remind them of the importance of legacy, family, and perseverance.

Christina Davis’ journey—from the classrooms and community of Roger Bacon to the shelves of Kroger stores across Cincinnati—embodies the power of faith, resilience, and Franciscan values. She continues to represent her Spartan roots with pride while inspiring others to follow their passions and give back to their communities.
