Roger Bacon Welcomes Two New Members to Faculty and Staff

Roger Bacon High School is excited to welcome two new members to the Spartan community: Jack Hudson, who joins the school as College & Career Advisor, and Gena Bailey, who joins the Spiritual Life Team as Community Outreach Coordinator.

Both Hudson and Bailey bring a wealth of experience working with students, families and communities, along with a shared passion for building relationships and helping young people grow. Roger Bacon looks forward to the many ways they will serve and strengthen the school community.

Jack Hudson | College & Career Advisor

Hudson joins Roger Bacon as the school’s new College & Career Advisor, bringing more than five years of experience in operations, student support, communication and program coordination.

Most recently, Hudson served as Assistant Director of Territory Recruitment at Xavier University, where he worked closely with prospective students, families, schools and community partners throughout the college admissions process. In his role, he helped hundreds of prospective students navigate the application and acceptance process while organizing recruitment events, campus visits, conferences and other activities involving students and external partners.

Hudson also analyzed school data and student feedback to help improve engagement, communication and organizational processes across departments.

Prior to his work in higher education, Hudson served as a Logistics Coordinator with One Logistics Network, where he managed schedules and logistics while serving as a communication liaison between carriers and vendors. His additional experience includes serving as an assistant store manager at Follett Bookstores/Xavier University, an assistant head baseball coach with OnDeck Baseball and a summer program teacher at Lafayette Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School.

A graduate of Xavier University, Hudson earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration in 2021. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Administration at Xavier, which he expects to complete in December 2026.

Hudson brings a student-centered approach and a passion for helping students explore their futures. His experience supporting students and families through the college admissions process will be a valuable resource for Roger Bacon students as they discern their individual college and career pathways.

“We are excited to welcome Jack Hudson to Roger Bacon as our new College and Career Advisor. His experience working in college admissions at Xavier University will be a tremendous asset to our students and families as they navigate the college search, application, and financial aid processes. Jack will also expand opportunities for our students by building new relationships with college campuses, strengthening partnerships with colleges and universities, and creating connections with professionals across a variety of career fields.”

Tim McCoy ’02, Principal

Hudson will officially begin his role at Roger Bacon on September 21.

Gena Bailey | Community Outreach Coordinator

Bailey joins the Roger Bacon Spiritual Life Team as the school’s new Community Outreach Coordinator, bringing extensive experience in education, leadership, event coordination and community involvement.

A graduate of the University of Dayton, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Communications with a focus on Public Relations and Marketing, Bailey has spent much of her professional and volunteer life building relationships and serving others.

Since 2022, Bailey has served as a Lead 4's Teacher at Good Shepherd Nursery School, where she creates a welcoming environment for young children and helps prepare them academically and socially for kindergarten. Her responsibilities include developing lesson plans, assessing student readiness, communicating with families and collaborating with other teachers.

Bailey's professional background also includes more than a decade of experience in account management and leadership with Express Scripts and CCI Benefit Solutions, where she managed client relationships, coordinated projects and deadlines, organized employee meetings and worked collaboratively to meet the needs of clients and their teams.

Her commitment to serving young people and building community extends well beyond her professional experience. Bailey has been actively involved at St. Gertrude School, serving as Vice President of Boosters, volleyball and track coach, Walkathon Chair, room mom and cafeteria helper. Through these roles, she has helped organize fundraisers and events, supported students and families, coordinated volunteers and encouraged young people through athletics and service.

Bailey also brings significant coaching experience to Roger Bacon. She previously served as the varsity field hockey coach at Olentangy Liberty High School, where she worked with high school students to develop their skills, character and teamwork. During her tenure, she was named Ohio Coach of the Year in 2008 and helped lead the program to a top-five ranking among Central Ohio field hockey teams.

Bailey's passion for community outreach is rooted in her love of people and her desire to help young people discover the importance of serving others. In her application for the position, Bailey shared that she enjoys “helping young people and watching them grow as they help and serve others” and building a community where people can connect, support one another and make a difference.

“I am so excited to have Gena join the Spiritual Life Team! Her deep faith, passion for serving others, and her joyful energy will, without a doubt, touch the hearts of our students.”

— Johanna Becker, Spiritual Life Director

As Community Outreach Coordinator, Bailey will help connect Roger Bacon students with opportunities to serve others while building relationships throughout the broader community. Her experience coordinating events, building relationships and working with young people will be an asset as she helps expand opportunities for Roger Bacon students to live out the school's Franciscan commitment to service.

Bailey joined the Roger Bacon community on September 8.

Please join us in welcoming Jack and Gena to the Roger Bacon family! We are grateful for the experience, energy and passion they bring to our community and look forward to the impact they will make in the lives of our students.
