Roger Bacon Senior Named Academic All-American

Congratulations to senior Emmett Breda on being named to the 2022-2023 Academic All-American Team by National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA). Over 350,000 students are involved in high school aquatics, with only 2% of these participants being recognized with the distinction of Academic All-American. Criteria for this honor includes a recipient holding a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on a 4 point scale, or 93.7500% of the grade scale used by the school without rounding up.

This is the third year in a row a Roger Bacon swimmer has been recognized. Emmett joins Brooklyn Myers and Alaina Finan of the class of 2022, and Rory Murphy and Natalie Borgert of the class of 2021 in earning this rare distinction.

Emmett is an Assisi Scholar, and will be making the pilgrimage to Assisi with his classmates this April. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, and recently earned the distinction of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America. Emmett was captain of the swim team, as well as Roger Bacon’s underwater hockey team.

Emmett will attend either the University of Cincinnati to study bio-medical engineering.
