Roger Bacon High School is proud to announce the hiring of Peighton Cook as Head Coach of the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Program and Jenn Laking as Director of Operations for Girls’ Soccer. These additions reflect the school’s continued commitment to excellence in athletics and the holistic development of student-athletes.
Peighton Cook brings an impressive background as both a player and coach to Roger Bacon. A graduate of Lawrenceburg High School, Cook is the school’s all-time leading scorer and a Kings Hammer Soccer Academy alumna. She went on to compete as a four-year Division I student-athlete at Ball State University, where she was a member of Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship teams.
Following her collegiate career, Cook returned to Lawrenceburg High School as a coach, where she spent four seasons helping lead the program to its first state championship in school history in 2024. She currently coaches with Ohio Elite Soccer Academy.
“I am honored to join Roger Bacon High School and grateful for the opportunity to lead this program,” said Cook. “My leadership values are rooted in community, discipline, and competitiveness, with a focus on building a culture where athletes support one another, embrace challenges, and strive for excellence on and off the field. I look forward to building strong relationships with our players and helping them grow as athletes and champions.”
Joining Cook is Jenn Laking, who will serve as Director of Operations for the Girls’ Soccer Program. Her responsibilities will include program administration and organization, game-day operations, communication and coordination throughout the program, travel and event planning, social media coordination, and program development support. She will also assist with coaching duties on the sidelines.
Laking began her playing career locally with Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) before competing for four years at Tiffin University at the NCAA Division II level. She is entering her 11th year of coaching and currently serves as Assistant Director at CU Northwest. Laking holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “C” Coaching License and is dedicated to developing student-athletes both athletically and personally.
“I am honored to step into the role of Director of Operations for the Girls’ Soccer Program at Roger Bacon,” said Laking. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to support our student-athletes, contribute to the continued growth of the program, and help strengthen a culture built on excellence, character, and heart. I look forward to working alongside the coaching staff and players to build on the strong foundation already in place and to help shape an exciting future for the Spartans.”
Roger Bacon Athletic Director Steve Rossi expressed enthusiasm about the program’s new leadership.
“We are very excited to add Coach Peighton Cook and Director of Operations Jenn Laking to our Girls’ Soccer Program,” Rossi said. “They have each experienced tremendous success as players at both the high school and collegiate levels, as well as success as coaches. We believe they will continue that success at Roger Bacon.”
Roger Bacon High School looks forward to the leadership, experience, and passion Cook and Laking will bring as they continue building a competitive and values-driven Girls’ Soccer program.
