Roger Bacon High School is proud to announce a new, exclusive partnership with Siena University in Loudonville, New York, strengthening the Franciscan bond between two institutions dedicated to academic excellence, service, and the holistic development of students.
Through this unique collaboration, Roger Bacon students will gain priority access to Siena University admissions, an exclusive scholarship, and a variety of enrichment programs designed to prepare them for success in college and beyond. The partnership builds on both schools’ shared Franciscan tradition, emphasizing values such as compassion, service to others, and lifelong learning.
“This partnership is a natural fit,” said Roger Bacon Principal Tim McCoy. “Siena University shares our commitment to forming young men and women in the Franciscan educational model. That includes elite academics, and shaping students with integrity, faith, and purpose. Our students will now have an even clearer pathway to a world-class education in a setting that aligns with their values.”
Highlights of the new partnership include:
As an added financial incentive, for any student from Roger Bacon that is enrolled full-time and in good academic standing, but finds they are unable to graduate within four years, Siena University will cover 100% of the cost of remaining tuition until the degree is earned.
Siena University’s tuition and fees for 2026-27 is $48,895, and the average merit and need based aid awarded to students averages between $30,000 - $39,000.
“We believe we have a responsibility to help families make the cost of a high-quality education more manageable. This is one reason we not only keep our tuition affordable, and even made a point to not increase tuition this year. College costs have exploded. This exclusive agreement with Siena University will make the cost of our students earning their college degree much more affordable, and be able to do so in the Franciscan model, at a special university. This is truly a blessing,” adds Roger Bacon President Steve Schad.
Founded in 1937, Siena University is a private, coeducational liberal arts college with a proud Franciscan heritage, nationally recognized academic programs, and a welcoming campus community just outside Albany, New York. Like Roger Bacon High School, Siena is committed to educating the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. It was recently ranked 69th among all universities nationally by the Wall Street Journal based on student experience and post-graduation success, and continually ranks among the top Catholic universities nationally.
Roger Bacon also has an existing agreement St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, New York, another Franciscan education partner. This agreement ensures a $5,000 per year, $20,000 four-year scholarship exclusively for Roger Bacon students.
