Roger Bacon Celebrates First Individual State Champion in over 40 Years

It was a celebratory day on the campus of Roger Bacon when students came back from the weekend on Monday, February 26.

Sophomore swimmer Reese Reilly became the school's first individual state champion in over forty years with her win in the state championship meet for the 100yd breaststroke with a time of 1:03.76. Reilly also broke several school records while on her way to her gold medal.

Mr. McCoy and Reese showered students with Reese's Cups in between classes as a part of #RessesforReese. And the day ended with a celebration with the entire student body. There, Mr. Rossi announced that the celebrations for Reese will continue on March 18, which will be known as Reese Reilly Day. To celebrate, students will have the day off!

Congratulations Reese on the amazing accomplishment and we cannot wait to continue the celebrations in a couple weeks for Reese Reilly Day!
