Madison Schildmeyer Receives Saint Francis Award

At graduation last week, Roger Bacon High School recognized members of the Class of 2026 whose lives have reflected the values that are at the heart of the school's Franciscan mission.

This year's Saint Francis Award was presented to Madison Schildmeyer.

The Saint Francis Award honors a graduating senior who best embodies the Franciscan values of holiness, learning, self-discipline, and compassion. Saint Francis of Assisi is remembered for his compassionate embrace of the leper, his unwavering commitment to living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and his humble leadership among his fellow brothers. The award recognizes a student whose life reflects those same ideals through faith, service, and dedication to others.

Madison has distinguished herself as a student whose commitment to her faith and concern for others have left a lasting impact on the Roger Bacon community. Through her leadership, perseverance, and willingness to put others before herself, she has exemplified what it means to live out the Franciscan tradition.

One of Madison's classmates shared the following nomination:

"Madison deserves this award because she is someone who is constantly involved with her faith life and is an incredible person to be around. Madison is an incredible person who will never give up on anything she puts her heart and mind to. She makes sacrifices for others, has a motivation to work harder than anyone else, and has a fighting spirit that will never die."

Madison's dedication to faith, service, and personal growth has made her a role model for her fellow students and a worthy recipient of this prestigious honor.

The Roger Bacon community congratulates Madison on receiving the Saint Francis Award and thanks her for the many ways she has embodied the Franciscan values throughout her time as a Spartan. We wish her continued success and blessings in the years ahead.
