We are thrilled to announce the winner of our 2025 Bacon Bronco Raffle! Congratulations to Ellen Layne!

Ellen is the proud new owner of a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport, courtesy of our friends at Queen City Ford!

Ellen purchased her chances through her grandson, Alex Chavez ’29. Her lucky ticket was pulled by Amira Ramahi '27 at halftime of our Homecoming football game on Friday, October 3rd. There we a total of 10,442 tickets in the hopper and Ellen had purchased $200 worth (12 tickets). What made it even better is that Ellen was in attendance to hear her name called! Thanks to the incredible dedication of our students, staff, and the support of Spartan Nation, the Bacon Bronco Raffle not only met but surpassed its $150,000 goal — raising an outstanding $180,930 in support of Roger Bacon students.

Ellen shared her thoughts on this whole experience and said:

"One of my lasting impressions of Friday evening is the feeling of shared joy. My family members were thrilled, of course. But students high-fived and congratulated me. Moms and dads, people I knew, and people I didn’t, seemed to enjoy reaching out and celebrating my win. Their congratulations felt so sincere, so kind, so real. The Roger Bacon staff members were warm and gracious. It was a memorable evening.

Since that moment, the joy has continued. It has morphed into emails, texts, photos, and posts. I have heard from friends, family, colleagues, and people I haven’t seen in ages. Roger Bacon clearly has a wide reach in this town. There were even Bacon grads at the Queen City Ford dealership. They too were finding joy in the big win. I feel the sense of the Roger Bacon family. It’s genuine."
