      • Exams will be taken during exam week for all non-elective courses in the following departments: English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
      • Students are expected to take exams during the designated time on the schedule.
      • The make-up/conflict exam slot is intended for students who miss an exam on the first day or have two Math/Science classes. Students who do not make up exams during this time will do so on Wednesday, January 3, starting at 7:45 a.m.
      • Lunch will not be served on exam days.
      • Exam grades count as 20% of the semester average. Study for your exams. Get a good night’s sleep. Eat a good breakfast in the morning.
    • Behavior Expectations:
      • Regular dress code is to be observed during exams.
      • Students who do not have to take an exam do not have to be on campus. Students who are on campus but do not have to take an exam must report to the Cafeteria. Students are expected to stay in the exam room until the end of the testing period.
      • In the event of a school closing due to weather, the exam schedule will shift one day, and the second day of exams will take place after we return from Christmas Break. If there is a two-hour delay, exams will begin two hours late. Assist-A-Family Update! In the past we have incentivized the Flex room with the most donations by giving that Flex room a dress down day. We are going to change that this year.

  • Assist-A-Family Update! Last year we fundraised $6,500 worth of gifts & gift cards. The challenge this year:
    • Fundraise $7,000 worth of gifts and gift cards and you will have Monday, April 8th off from school. What does this mean you might be asking?
      • It means that your Easter Break that originally runs March 27th – April 7th will be extended by one day, and it would be March 27th – April 8th.
      • Fundraise $10,000 and Mr. Rodriguez’s head gets shaved.
      • These incentives are meant to motivate your students, create a little competition and give them a goal. However, let’s not forget the true meaning and intent behind our Assist-A-Family project: during the season of Christmas we gather as a community in collecting gifts for families and children in need during a time that can be hard for families. As we go into our Thanksgiving break, this time invites us to reflect on what we are grateful for in our lives and the world around us. Take this time to reflect with your family about helping another family in need. A simple gift goes a long way!
  • Spartan Leaders invites you to join us for our RB 180 on November 29 during Flex in the FAC. This is a speaker series where members of the RB community share their experience of faith and sports. This month our speaker is RB alum and Baseball Coach, Mr. McCoy! All are welcome!
  • November 30th The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered to all students, during a mass schedule. Various Franciscan Priests will come to Roger Bacon to administer the sacrament. If you are not receiving the sacrament, but wish to speak with the priest during this time, all are welcome. The entire school will gather on this day, praying with one another, listening to scripture readings, student faith talks, & meditative music.
  • Monday, December 4 in room 20, Information meeting for the Jamaica mission/service trip will be during flex. Stop by and learn how to be part of this amazing experience!

Cafeteria Information

  • WG Grinders partners with MySchoolAccount.com for the managing of our lunch service software and payments. MySchoolAccount.com offers you the ability to make deposits directly into your student’s account online or via their mobile app. Here you can track what your children have been eating for the past 30 days, transfer funds between students and have an email reminder sent to you when an account balance gets low. Deposits and payments can be made through ACH (checking/savings) or credit/debit card. We will still accept checks sent to the school (made out to WG Grinders), credit card payments at the register, and cash. Each child’s account will be updated in real time, so account balance information will be current daily.
  • Questions? Contact Mark Jones, IT Director, WG Grinders Catering and Cafeteria Operations, at wggrinders@wggrindersdayton.com or via phone at (937) 760-7346.

School Nurse

  • An important part of our safety plan is ensuring that students who are sick are not permitted to come to school. If you are sick, please stay home. Check the temperature of students before leaving home. Students with a temperature of 100.4 degrees of higher should stay at home.
  • Senior students must submit documentation of receiving their Meningitis vaccine. If you have not yet done so, please send an updated vaccine record to the nurse. If you have any questions, please contact our school nurse, Karin Herold, via email or leave a voice message 513-641-1300, ext 1140.
