• Please submit your ODE Scholarship Acceptance Form—EdChoice, EdChoice Expansion, or John Peterson—to the Main Office if you have not already done so.

• CARPOOLS: Several parents and students are interested in coordinating carpools to and from Roger Bacon and other school events. If you are interested in joining a carpool or helping a current family in need of transportation assistance, please visit the carpool section of our website. Drama Guild:

• The Drama Guild's audition and application process is under way for this fall's "One Act" plays and "Elf Jr."…our Christmas musical.

o To help students get ready, there will be a series of workshops after school.

Spiritual Life:

• We will have our first All-School Opening Liturgy for students tomorrow in the Fine Arts Center.

o Seniors will have off-campus lunch.

• Our Lady of the Angels Chapel is open daily for students:

o 7:00am join the morning prayer with the Friars

o 7:15am Morning Mass (M,T,W,F)

o 7:20am Coffee (& Cocoa) with Christ (TH)

o Scheduled flex masses (Spartan Leader)

o After school mass on Thursdays with the Friars.

• IHL:

o Seniors: You should be uploading artifacts to your IHL digital portfolio. If you are having trouble with this or have questions, see Mrs. Becker in new SLO location.

o Sophomores: You will have an “at home” conference with your parents in the spring. Make sure to stay on top of your uploading of artifacts. This will help you with the reflection packet later!

o Freshmen: IHL will be explained to you via Freshman Seminar classes. Mrs. Becker will visit your class and explain, sometime in the next 2 weeks.

• Freshman Service Days will take place on the following days:

• Northern Kentucky Regional College Fair

o Tuesday, September 29th

o 6:00–8:00 p.m.

o Connor Convocation Center | Thomas More University

o Approximately 50 local/regional colleges and universities will be in attendance, giving students the opportunity to explore a variety of postsecondary options in one convenient location.

• AP Testing

o Ms. Smith sent an email last week with information about AP testing & AP testing fees. Please be sure to read the email- including the AP exam schedule.

o AP exams are $99 per exam. Any students taking more than 2 AP exams will pay $198.

o Fees are due no later than October 16, 2026. You may pay with a check made out to Roger Bacon High School, pay with cash in person to the Business Office, or call the Business Office to make a credit card payment.

o Payment can also be mailed to the attention of the Business Office.

• Companions on a Journey

o We will continue to host Companions on a Journey for a grief and loss group once a month. The first group will be held on September 8th, and the first Tuesday of every month following. This is a place where students can work through complex feelings about the loss of someone they know. It doesn’t have to be a close relationship for it to have an impact on our students. Girls Basketball Golf Outing:

• The 2nd Annual Roger Bacon Girls Basketball Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, October 17th at Avon Fields Golf Course. Help support the Spartan Girls Basketball Program while enjoying a fun day on the course!

• To register, contact Michael Wiegand at mwiegand@rogerbacon.org. The Roger Bacon Underwater Hockey Team:

• Currently accepting new team members for the 2026-2027 season. All incoming Freshmen and all returning and new Upperclassmen are invited to play Underwater Hockey for Roger Bacon. Students need to be able to swim, but they do not have to be an exceptional swimmer to play Underwater Hockey.

• Any student who is interested in playing Underwater Hockey for Roger Bacon is encouraged to speak to the team’s coach, Dr. Wittekind, in Room 33 either before or after school or email him at pwittekind@rogerbacon.org.
