Welcome back! For our new parents, Spartan Weekly is emailed every Thursday and includes important information for the upcoming week. You will also receive a phone call every Sunday at 7:00 p.m., which will appear as Roger Bacon High School on your caller ID. The call provides reminders and highlights from the upcoming week, all of which can also be found in Spartan Weekly.

Spartan Village Tailgate: The Spartan Village Tailgate Committee has coordinated a pregame meet-up at Patrick’s Sports Bar & Grill this Friday, just a couple of blocks from West High Field. Patrick’s has graciously agreed to let Spartan Village take over the patio before the game!
- Join us anytime after 4:00 p.m. for food, drinks, and plenty of Spartan spirit before kickoff!
- Remember, kickoff is early this week at 6:30 p.m., so please plan accordingly.
- The turnout last week at Fretboard was amazing. Let’s do it again!
- Everyone is welcome! Hail Spartans!

Main Office:

Please submit your ODE Scholarship Acceptance Form—EdChoice, EdChoice Expansion, or JPSN—to the Main Office if you have not already done so.

Drama Guild:

Drama Guild's Info Meeting for the year will be held on Monday, Aug 31st in the FAC after school.
- ANY and ALL students interested in joining the Drama Guild this year are welcome to attend.
  - Find out about the Audition process and Crew Applications for the first semester shows, and the upcoming workshops to help prepare students for auditions.
  - If you can't stay after school, there will be a brief make-up session during Flex on Thursday, Sept 3.

Spiritual Life:

New Spiritual Life Location: Former Main Office near marble steps.
- All forms that deal with Spiritual Life activities, service, community outreach, etc., can be retrieved at this location when needed. Stop by and say hello.
All School Opening Liturgy: 9/4 in the Fine Arts Center
Our Lady of the Angels Chapel is open daily for students:
- 7:00am morning prayer with the Friars
- 7:15am Morning Mass (M,T,W,F)
- 7:20am Coffee (& Cocoa) with Christ (TH)
- Scheduled flex masses (Spartan Leader)
- After school mass on Thursdays with the Friars.

Service
- 8/27 – 8/31: Class Level Meetings regarding service and community outreach held during flex.
- Direct all questions regarding service to Mrs. Becker, jbecker@rogerbacon.org.

IHL:
- Seniors: You should be uploading artifacts to your IHL digital portfolio. If you are having trouble with this or have questions, see Mrs. Becker in new SLO location.
- Sophomores: You will have an “at home” conference with your parents in the spring. Make sure to stay on top of your uploading of artifacts. This will help you with the reflection packet later!

Freshmen: IHL will be explained to you via Freshman Seminar classes. Mrs. Becker will visit your class and explain, sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Freshman Service Days will take place on the following days:
- September 11: (Adams – Edwards)
- September 18: (Egbert – King Jr.)
- October 16: (Kupiec – Riordan)
- October 30: (Robertson – Zlatic)
  - Information will be communicated through frosh theology classes.

This Weekend in Sports:

Friday, August 28
- o Varsity football travels to Western Hills High School. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 29
- o Girls’ JV and varsity volleyball travel to the Athletes in Action Sports Complex in Xenia for matches at 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
- o The boys’ varsity golf team travels to The Mill Course to compete in the Tim Tilton Invitational. Tee time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
- o The boys’ varsity “Brown” golf team travels to Pleasant Hill Golf Course to compete in the Monroe Invitational. Golfers will begin play at 1:30 p.m.
- o The boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams travel to Centerville High School to compete in the Saturday Night Lights Invitational. Start times are currently TBA.
- o The JV football team travels to Ross for a 10:00 a.m. contest.
