In Honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra Performs for Students

A big thank you to members of the CCJO - Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra for playing for us today to close out Jazz Appreciation Month

They had great insights for our students about listening, communicating, and working together - all with amazing music and soloists.

RB band, choir, and RB3 students (and a few fellow classmates) got to hear a performance presentation on some of the history and structure of jazz called ”Let Freedom Swing!” They got to hear a jazz chart be built from its bass root up to the improvised solo melodies created on the spot.

Our students then got to ask questions and interact with these professional musicians. Their answers sparked new creative ideas and music history discussions. What a performance presentation and what an experience for our growing musicians. Thank You CCJO!
