Teresa Weickert

Seton Hill University

Teresa will graduate in the spring from Seton Hill University with a Bachelors in Social Work and a minor in Psychology.

"My experience within the Assisi Scholar Program taught me how to excel both in the classroom and in real life. I learned discipline, hard work, dedication, and gained confidence in my own abilities. The rigor of classwork was challenging, but in the end, the relationships and skills I gained made all the AP homework worth it. Now, I have had two internships, created policy for a non-profit homeless shelter, got asked to be a leader on a youth action board at a non-profit, created an organization that I proposed to provost at my university, got inducted into both the honors program and the honors society of my major, was selected to present my research on sex education at a conference in New Orleans, play volleyball for my university's team, and am helping to create a non-profit to promote racial equality in the inner-city schools of Pittsburgh. Being in the Assisi Program and having the mentors I did made me completely prepared for college which is why I have been blessed with success since. I am beyond thankful for being able to be a part of the Assisi Scholar Program and always think about Dr.Luebbe."
