Sons of the American Revolution Scholarship

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution invites all high school students interested in the American Revolution to participate in the George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest.

The Knight Essay Contest is designed to give students an opportunity to explore topics based on original research and deal with an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution. Each students essay will be judged based upon its historical accuracy, clarity, organization, grammar and spelling, and documentation.

Contest rules and guidelines can be found in the guidance office. Deadline for submissions is January 27, 2021. Win up to $800 on the state level and up to $5,000 on the national level.

Senior Scholarships

Mensa US Scholarship

There are two requirements for applicants:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date.
  • Applicants must submit an application and essay explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals.

Applicants have until Jan. 15 to write an essay of not more than 550 words explaining their career, academic and/or vocational goals and how they plan to achieve those goals. For more information, read our scholarship FAQ.

YWCA Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship

The YWCA Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship was established in 1993 to provide financial assistance and support to an outstanding Black female Greater Cincinnati high school senior entering a post-secondary institution. The scholarship is offered annually in conjunction with the YWCA Career Women of Achievement . A committee evaluates and updates the scholarship application, assists in its distribution and promotion, and selects 10 finalists, who include two runners-up and one winner. Evaluation criteria include academic record, personal challenges and hardships, ACT and/or SAT scores (optional), letters of recommendation, class rank, honors and awards, involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service, and employment history. Applicants are required to write two brief essays, one describing their greatest challenge and how it has affected them, and one explaining what Mamie Earl Sells’ philosophy, “Lift as we climb,” means to them. Deadline to apply is January 20, 2021 and the application can be found here or in the guidance office.

The Charles L. Warren Memorial Heritage Scholarship

The Charles L. Warren Memorial Heritage Scholarship is awarded by the Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling each year to outstanding high school seniors. The scholarship is a one-time $1,500 award.

CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:
This scholarship is awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
• Demonstrate and show a continued commitment to cultural and intellectual diversity
• Attend an OACAC member high school. Just one HS counselor needs to be a member to qualify, please check with your counselor to verify that your high school is an OACAC member
• Have an accumulated grade point average of 3.00 or better on a 4.00 scale in a college preparatory curriculum
• Required to attend an Ohio college or university
• Submit the Charles L. Warren Memorial Heritage Scholarship application, an official high school transcript, a counselor recommendation and personal questions electronically before the published deadline.

The Ohio Township Association Annual Scholarship

Thhe Ohio Township Association’s (OTA) annual college scholarship is now available online. The OTA has (4) $1,500 scholarships available to high school seniors who will be graduating in 2021 and plan to attend an Ohio college or university in the fall of 2021. The eligibility requirements remain the same and require each applicant to reside in a township in the state of Ohio and attend a township meeting.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc Sigma Omega Chapter

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Sigma Omega Chapter extends to you the opportunity to apply for our 2020 academic scholarship. We will award scholarships to outstanding high school students of color that reside in Greater Cincinnati.

Applicants will have to provide the following information to be considered for a scholarship: academic excellence, community and volunteer service, extra-curricular activities and exceptional leadership potential.

Applications can be downloaded here or can be picked up in the Guidance office. Applications must be postmarked by March 6, 2020.

National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Scholarship

Since 1923 the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc., strives to stimulate
professional growth among teachers and to encourage the development of the
potential of our youth.
NSPDK Inc., supports the educational achievement of young men and women in
Greater Cincinnati area schools.
We would like to award a scholarship to two seniors, who have completed the
application requirements and can provide proof of admission to a college or
university of their choice.
The winners will each receive a $1,000.00 scholarship. Applications can be found here or in the guidance office. Deadline to apply is March 12, 2021.

City of Sharonville Fire Department Scholarship

Applications are available for the Chief Robert J. Yeager Memorial Scholarship. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors planning to attend college or technical school in the fall of 2021.

Eligibility requirements: must be a Sharonville resident or family member of an active or honorary Sharonville Firefighter or family member of an active or honorary Sharonville Fire Department club member.

Applications can be picked up at the Sharonville Fire Department, 11637 Chester Rd, Sharonville OH 45246 and must be postmarked by March 15, 2021.

Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta

The Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will distribute scholarships to African-American females in the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Area that are currently high school seniors and plan to attend a college or university upon graduation. Recipients of the scholarship will be based on academic excellence, community service involvement, financial need, and a short interview, if requested. Interested applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

2021 Slater & Zurz Scholarship

Slater & Zurz LLP is pleased to offer a scholarship once again to a high school senior or college undergraduate student. The 2021 scholarship will be in the amount of $5,000 and will be awarded to the winning applicant in May 2021.

Eligibility:

  • Students must be a high school senior or college undergraduate
  • Students must be graduating from an Ohio High School or attending an Ohio college or university.

Max Scholarship for Leadership

At Thomas & Galbraith we value integrity, kindness and commitment in everything that we do. These leadership attributes are pillars of performance that drive innovation, growth, and success. The MAX Scholarships for Leadership are a way for us to celebrate and reward these qualities in our 2021 graduates. Through these scholarships we will recognize outstanding individuals who have demonstrated integrity, kindness and commitment in school, at home, and within our community.

Please nominate yourself in 500 words or less. Your nomination should be a short summary of why you feel you are deserving of the scholarship. The summary may contain examples of your character, service to the community, or a story of how you overcame difficult circumstances.

Guy B. and Mabel Lykins Scholarship

This $500.00 scholarship is open to high school seniors who will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, and who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 (based on non-weighted scale). Applicants may be called for a personal interview. The scholarship must be used for tuition and/or books only. Payments will only be made to the college of your choice.

We are looking for students who are involved in community service.

Applications will be accepted beginning February 15, 2021 and postmarked on or before April 2, 2021. Please mail application to Lykins Companies, Inc., Attention: Ann Ashbrook, 5163 Wolfpen-Pleasant Hill Road, Milford, OH 45150. Applications can be found here or in the guidance office.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 10

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 10 is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program available to students from the Greater Cincinnati area who are pursuing their education beyond high school. These scholarships are available to veterans and their immediate family members/dependents. More complete guidelines are listed on the enclosed attachments. Applicants may be high school seniors or students already enrolled in college, technical or vocational school.

Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation

For decades, the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) has administered scholarships that have helped thousands of students from the Greater Cincinnati area to achieve their dream of a college education. The scholarship funds come from community organizations, businesses and individuals who believe that a higher education should be available to everyone, regardless of financial limitations.

Criteria for these scholarships are determined by the donors and can be specific, which is why it is important that you complete the application in its entirety. Most scholarships are "need-based", and help to cover the cost of education after all other federal, state, and campus-based aid have been awarded. To be considered for all CSF scholarships, you must have a proven financial need which can only be determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Pureland Supply Vocational and Skilled Trade Scholarship

Pureland Supply has been selling high quality replacement projector lamps to various universities, schools, and government entities since 1997. We understand the importance of skilled trades in our society and appreciate those who learn and perform specific trade, craft or labor occupations.

The $500.00 Pureland Supply Scholarship
is available to students who have been accepted to an accredited trade school, vocational college, technical school or community college for the study of trade, craft, or labor occupations. Recipients are chosen on their ability to describe how their chosen trade or field plays an important role in today’s world and why this is the path they have chosen.

The Fuel Foundation 2021 Pay it Forward Scholarship

Who is Eligible?
• SIGMA Members’ adult or student employees, spouses, children, grandchildren and dependents of current employees.
• High School Seniors who have been accepted to college or trade school for Fall of 2020 with a minimum GPA of 2.5
• Students currently enrolled in a Trade School, Undergraduate, Graduate, and PhD program with a cumulative 2.5 College GPA AND a minimum of one full time quarter/semester completed.
• Individuals who have completed significant volunteer work in your community or school such as public service, community outreach, coaching, event volunteering, etc. (Supporting documentation required).

BigSun Scholarship 2021

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate. WishGeek LGBTQ+Awareness Scholarship

The WiseGeek LGBTQ+ Awareness Scholarship is a $500 scholarship open to students that identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

The WiseGeek LGBTQ+ Awareness Scholarship exists to support the dreams and aspirations of LGBTQ+ youth across the country. The scholarship is open to students who identify as a member of this community.

The application deadline is 11:59 pm PST on the 20th of each month.

Requirements:

Underclass Scholarships

The Patrick Wolterman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for a current junior in honor of Patrick, a fallen firefighter and member of the RB Class of 2005. Applicants should submit an essay, no more than one page, addressing the following prompt:

The mission statement of Roger Bacon High School reads:

Rooted in the Franciscan values of holiness and learning, self-discipline and compassion, Roger Bacon is a Catholic high school which develops the hearts, minds, and bodies of its young men and women in a caring and challenging environment.

Spartan Achievement Award Scholarship

This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a member of the junior class entering their senior year in the fall of 2019. The Spartan ACHIEVEMENT Award will be granted to one student who clearly demonstrates strong initiative, personal integrity and leadership potential while pursuing academic excellence. Vincent M Kathman Alumni Scholarship - Deadline Extended

This scholarship for $1,000 up to $3,000, is for a current junior toward their senior year tuition. This scholarship is based on school involvement and financial need. Class of 1965 Scholarship

The RB Class of 1965 Scholarship is now open for freshmen, sophomore and junior students. Award for this scholarship will be based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and financial need. Class of 1952 Scholarship

The RB Class of 1952 Scholarship is now open for freshmen and sophomore students. You must have an 80% average to apply. The Paul and Naomi Thomas Scholarship

The Paul and Naomi Thomas Scholarship is available for one sophomore student who exemplifies the Roger Bacon philosophy of Holiness and Learning. The recipient will receive a full-tuition scholarship for their Junior year.

The criteria are as follows:

Holiness: The student must demonstrate Christian behavior towards other students, gratitude and appreciation for the RB experience and participate in projects which serve the needs of others.

Learning: The student must maintain honor roll status first and second quarter of sophomore year and act as a positive role model for other students.

To apply the student must submit an essay which illustrates how he or she meets the criteria of the scholarship. Each Candidate's applications must include three letters of recommendation from faculty and/or staff.
