Making a Career Choice

Choosing a career path can be an intimidating process for some people. The search requires introspection, a realistic view of one's skills and interests, and knowledge of the credentials required in a profession. With college costs soaring, it is essential that a student invests the time and energy to search, become knowledgeable, and establish future goals. Though people may change careers numerous times during their years of employment, having a goal is an essential ingredient in becoming successful.

We encourage students to access the Kuder® Career Planning System.  Students are able to complete the Kuder Career search with Person Match (interest assessment), the Kuder Skills Assessment, and Work Values Inventory.  Roger Bacon has subscribed to this service and will provide students with the access codes for each assessment.  Details are available from the student's counselor.  Features allow students to take assessments and access multiple resources to explore occupations and plan for postsecondary education.  There are also  excellent resources for parents.
