The Parents at Roger Bacon

Our parents are an invaluable resource. They provide support and often donate time and energy to make Roger Bacon’s programs even more effective.

Opportunities for Involvement

Athletic Boosters

The purpose of the Athletic Boosters is to support all the athletic programs at Roger Bacon. Parents or guardians become members when their child participates in any athletic activity that is sponsored by the Athletic Department of Roger Bacon High School. Membership dues are included in the athletic participation fee. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.

The Athletic Boosters host several events during the year, including the Blacktop Party, the Holiday Basketball Tourney and the Sports Stag.

If you are interested in getting more involved with Athletic Boosters, contact the Athletic Department at 641-1300.

Band Boosters

The purpose of the Band Boosters is to support the nationally acclaimed Spartan Band. Membership is open to anyone; the group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

The Band Boosters hold the popular Roger Bacon Band Invitational, or RBBI, the Guard/Percussion Invitational, and Casino Night.

If you are interested in getting more involved with Band Boosters, please visit the band website at www.rbbic.org.

Chorus Boosters

The purpose of the Chorus Boosters is to support Roger Bacon’s choral program. Anyone is welcome to join; the group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

The Chorus Boosters’ activities include the Christmas Concert, the Fine Arts Festival and the spring musical.

If you are interested in getting more involved with Chorus Boosters, contact Jennifer Meister at 641-1300.

Evening for Excellence

The Evening for Excellence, the school’s dinner auction, is the largest social event and most important fundraiser of the school year.

We need parents to work at the booths at the event.

If you are interested in getting more involved with Evening for Excellence, please contact Chris Bissmeyer at 641-1313.

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)

The purpose of the PTA is to promote greater cooperation between parents and teachers and to support the students and school. Membership is open to every parent or guardian. The group meets the second Thursday of the month in the school library at 7:00 p.m.

The PTA has committees for the Fashion Show and After Prom, and they are usually looking for parents to help with those events.

If you are interested in getting more involved or want to help with one event, please contact Mary Krause, Membership Chair, at mkrause@zoomtown.com.
