Future Crime Scene Investigators Search for Thief

Megan Guldner's biology classes are on the case: someone has been stealing food from the Roger Bacon cafeteria and selling it to a local catering service.

Using five different chemical tests, like a starch test, and examining the evidence, students carefully narrow the list of possible suspects to two. Then using a partial fingerprint provided by the evidence clerk, the students identify the criminal.

The final reports, which explain their evidence and how it linked the suspect to the crime, are submitted to prosecuting attorney Mrs. Guldner.
