  • On Friday, September 6th, there is no on-campus parking in the side and back parking lots so we can accommodate our guests for Grandparents' Appreciation Day and First Friday Mass.  Parking will be available at Bron Bacevich Memorial Stadium.  
  • Stadium Dedication.  On Friday, September 6th prior to the football game, the newly renovated Bron Bacevich Memorial Stadium will be rededicated.  The dedication ceremony will take place on the football field at 6:40 pm prior to the start of the game at 7:00 pm. We hope to have a large crowd there to celebrate the dedication!

  • Freshmen Mixer.  Student Senate is hosting a Freshmen Mixer on Friday, September 6th in the cafeteria following our first home football game.  This event is for freshmen and Senior Leaders to gather together and get to know each other better!  The price for admission is $1!  The mixer starts at 9:30 pm and ends at 11:30 pm. See you there!
  • St. Clement Festival @ Pig Roast 2019 will take place on Friday, September 6th through Sunday, September 8th. Booths, rides, raffles, games and much more!! 

  • Koinonia.  Freshmen will have their Freshman Community Day called Koinonia on Monday, September 9th to help them reflect on the connection between faith and service.

  • Picture Day.  Our Picture Day will be on Tuesday, September 17th.  You will be receiving order forms for pictures in your Flex room on Tuesday, September 3rd.  More info to follow!         

  • Drivers education classes start on Monday, September 23rd. Please stop by the main office to sign-up and pick-up a packet of information. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays for 4 weeks. 

  • The Roger Bacon Underwater Hockey Team is presently recruiting new team members for the 2019-2020 school year. All freshmen and upperclassmen are invited to play underwater hockey for Roger Bacon. Students need to be able to swim, but they do not have to be an exceptional swimmer to play underwater hockey. Any student who is interested in playing is asked to see Dr. Wittekind in Room 33. If parents have any questions, please email Dr. Wittekind at See you in the pool!

Grandparents' Appreciation Day

On Friday, September 6th, Roger Bacon will host its eighth annual Grandparents' Appreciation Day for grandparents of our current freshmen. This special day is being planned to honor and thank those who have given a rich tradition of Catholic education and strong values to their families and our school community. The event will be held in the Carol Dauwe Fine Arts Center. The day begins with registration at 7:45 am followed by Mass at 8:30 am. A reception with a continental breakfast will follow immediately. At approximately 9:45 am, our freshmen students will accompany interested grandparents on a tour of the Roger Bacon campus. We expect the event to conclude at 10:50 am.   • On Tuesday, September 10th Roger Bacon will be hosting the Jesuit Excellence Tour. Ten Jesuit colleges from around the country will be here to meet with interested students during flex. We will be hosting:

    - John Carroll University
    - Loyola Chicago
    - Loyola Maryland
    - Loyola New Orleans
    - Marquette University
    - Regis University
    - Spring Hill College
    - St. Louis University
    - Xavier University
    The students will be receiving more information later about signing up to see any of these college representatives.

Drama Guild

  • Mark your calendars for the Drama Guild's fall production of The Diary of Anne Frank, November 22-24th. Auditions will be held on September 9th and 10th with Crew applications due on September 10th. The Cast and Crew List will be posted on September 13th with rehearsals beginning the 17th. Community Outreach

  • Freshmen Service Day. Freshmen year is a time in which Roger Bacon would like to provide students with the opportunity to learn more about our Christian call to serve. This will happen in two parts. First, freshmen will have their Freshman Community Day called Koinonia on Monday, September 9, 2019, to help them reflect on the connection between faith and service. Second, we will divide the freshman class into quarters for a Freshman Service Day. Your child will be participating on an assigned service day in Over-the-Rhine that are:
    - October 11, 2019: Abele – Curran
    - October 25, 2019: Dalessandro - Kenny
    - November 15, 2019: Kleinfeldt - Perkins
    - December 6, 2019: Radecki - Zerges

  • Service Opportunity. On Saturday, September 21st, join the Community Outreach Board in Farm Frenzyfrom 8:00 am - 1:00 pm at Gorman Heritage Farm. Help prepare garden beds for the Sunflower Festival. A farm your and lunch are included. Only 20 spots are available. Permission forms are available outside the Spiritual Life Office. Turn in forms no later than September 11th.

  • 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.  Apply for a 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Award and you could win a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington, D.C., in May!  Access the application at or  Complete and submit the application no later than November 5, 2019.

Alumni/ae News

  • First Friday Mass. Mass is at 8:15 am in the Carol Dauwe Fine Arts Center. Parking is available on the plaza directly in front of school. Pastries and coffee are served after Mass. We usually have 40-50 OLA and RB alums, friends and relatives on a regular basis. Contact a fellow alum and enjoy a morning of prayer and fellowship. Reservations are not necessary.

  • Alumni Association Meetings. The Alumni Association meets in the Information and Technology Center the second Thursday of each month. All alums are welcome to come and help support the students at RB. Please note: The September Alumni Association meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 11th due to Meet the Teachers Night on Thursday, September 12th.

  • Bron Bacevich Memorial Engraved Bricks. Support the Roger Bacon/OLA Alumni Association by purchasing a brick which can be designated for placement in the new stadium. For more information, contact Rick Sollmann at 641-1313 or email

  • Keep the Date! Mark your calendars for the following dates:
    • October 4 - Day of Giving. The Roger Bacon community is thrilled to have our second annual "Day of Giving" on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. In our efforts to improve our St. Francis of Assisi Scholarship Fund, we are asking our alumni/ae and friends to consider a donation in honor of our patron saint. Stay tuned for more information.
    • October 19 - Homecoming RB vs CHCA (game time is 7:00 pm). Parade begins at 5:30 pm from the Friar's Club parking lot. Face painting for kids and grand kids, door prizes (alumni register at the Aluumni/ae Tent), and much more.
    • November 7 - Veterans' Day Assembly. A continental breakfast and a program honoring vets will begin at 8:00 am. Reservations can be made by calling Chris Newton at 641-1313.
