Announcements

  • Re-gifting Week.  The week of January 7th through January 11th has been designated as “Re-gifting Week” for the next Evening for Excellence. If you received a gift for Christmas that you don’t think you will ever use, bring it to Roger Bacon and we will use it in our Silent Auction or Basket Boutique. Remember that your gift is tax-deductible, so let us know the value of the donation when you send it. Also, if you liked all your Christmas gifts this year, but you want to participate in our Re-gifting Week, we welcome gift cards, bottles of wine or spirits, and cash. This week will kick off our efforts for a successful Evening for Excellence. Thanks for supporting our major fundraiser!

  • “RB’s Got Talent” 2019.  Our talent show competition returns and runs from January 15th to February 6th. It starts with an open round of auditions to choose teams and coaches. It concludes with an all school assembly where the finalists perform to determine the winner. Auditions are on Tuesday, January 15th after school in the FAC. Any student with any act can audition. Signup sheets are posted outside the Admissions Office. Sign up deadline is Friday, January 11th. Show night is open to anyone to attend on Tuesday. January 29th at 7:30 pm. It is a free event and will feature acts from all members of the teams and their coaches. Come root on your favorite performer and coach and help vote the best acts into the finale.

From the Guidance Office

  • All students. We have one more week of second quarter. Finish strong – all students who attain first or second honors for second quarter will receive free tickets to a Reds game this spring!

  • Seniors
    -  Most of you are finished with your college applications, so now it is time to work on paying for college! Several scholarships are listed on the Guidance web page. The list will be updated weekly, so make sure you check it regularly through the next few months. You should submit your FAFSA if you have not done so already. The link to the PowerPoint from the Financial Aid Night presentation is listed on the Guidance page.

    -  We want to know about ALL of the scholarships you have been offered! As you receive offers, please bring a copy of the award letter to the guidance office. We will announce all of the scholarships each senior has been offered at the Graduation Awards Ceremony in May.

  • Juniors. You will be taking the ACT here on Tuesday, March 12th. This test is free and you do not have to register for it. Scores from this test may be sent to colleges as well. You will be doing some prep work for the test in your classes during third quarter.

  • Applications for spring and summer internships in Senator Portman’s Cincinnati office are now being accepted. Internships in Senator Rob Portman’s offices offer students an exciting introduction to the U.S. Senate and the workings of a Senate office. Interns are assigned to work alongside staff responsible for the Senator’s legislative, press, and administrative operations. Applications will be reviewed for 2019 internships on a rolling basis. Email a completed application packet including: high school transcript; one page explanation of interest in the internship, and two letters of recommendation to gabrielle_mooney@portman.senate.gov. Please contact the senator's office at 513-684-3265 or via email at gabrielle_mooney@portman.senate.gov if you have any questions regarding internships in Senator Portman’s office.
