  • St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store.  The thrift store will be open on Monday, August 26th, from the beginning of Flex (for seniors and juniors) until 3:15 pm.  This is a great opportunity to purchase gently used Roger Bacon spirit wear and uniform items.  After 2:45 pm on Monday, all students are welcome to shop and the 5-item limit will not be in effect.  All monies raised benefits our neighbors in need.  Thank you for your generosity!

  • The Drama Guild will be holding their first meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 28th at 3:00 pm in the Fine Arts Center.  Meet new members, play games, and hear about how you can get involved with the fall production of The Diary of Anne Frank.  If you are interested in auditioning, being on the Crew for the play, or just finding out about the Drama Guild, this meeting is for you!

  • Senior Assisi Scholars Pilgrimage Meeting. Parents, chaperones, and senior Assisi pilgrims are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, August 29th from 5:30-7:00 pm in the Information and Technology Center. The purpose of the meeting is to answer any last-minute questions that you may have about the pilgrimage. A light dinner will be served.

  • St. Clement Festival @ Pig Roast 2019 will take place on Friday, September 6th through Sunday, September 8th.  Booths, rides, raffles, games and much more!!

  • Drivers education classes start on Monday, September 23rd.  Please stop by the main office to sign-up and pick-up a packet of information.  Classes are Mondays and Wednesday for 4 weeks.

  • Roger Bacon is looking to fill their Cappie Critic team with nine of the best student writers who enjoy watching plays and musicals.  Join Cappie Critics from other schools to watch performances at other high schools and write reviews that can be published.  If you are interested in being a Cappie Critic, forms can be found in room 56 and are due by Friday, August 30th.  See Ms. Murray for more information.

  • The Roger Bacon Underwater Hockey Team is presently recruiting new team members for the 2019-2020 school year. All freshmen and upperclassmen are invited to play underwater hockey for Roger Bacon. Students need to be able to swim, but they do not have to be an exceptional swimmer to play underwater hockey. Any student who is interested in playing is asked to see Dr. Wittekind in Room 33. If parents have any questions, please email Dr. Wittekind at See you in the pool!

  • A Reminder About Uber and Lyft.  According to terms of service, Uber and Lyft are not permitted to transport anyone under the age of 18.  Although some drivers may ignore these requirements, most drivers will deny service upon pickup per the terms of service.  Uber and Lyft are beginning to increase their enforcement of this term of service, so families please do not rely upon either Uber or Lyft for transportation of your student.

Grandparents' Appreciation Day.

On Friday, September 6th, Roger Bacon will host its eighth annual Grandparents' Appreciation Day for grandparents of our current freshmen. This special day is being planned to honor and thank those who have given a rich tradition of Catholic education and strong values to their families and our school community.  The event will be held in the Carol Dauwe Fine Arts Center.  The day begins with registration at 7:45 am followed by Mass at 8:30 am.  A reception with a continental breakfast will follow immediately.  At approximately 9:45 am, our freshmen students will accompany interested grandparents on a tour of the Roger Bacon campus.  We expect the event to conclude at 10:50 am.  If you have not already sent in your invitation and there are grandparents who want to attend, please contact Bro. Gene Mayer, OFM, at 641-1313, ext 1195 or by email at  Thank you for making this day a memorable one for our students and grandparents!
