  • The Varsity Baseball Team will play Coldwater at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 8th at Canal Park, AkronThere are no advance ticket sales - all tickets must be bought at the game.  Tickets are $8. If there is enough interest, there will be a spirit bus for students for the game - the cost is $10 per student and it includes a game ticket.  The bus will leave Roger Bacon at 11:30 am and return to school after the game.  If we win on Saturday, a spirit bus will be offered for the championship game to be played at 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 9th (also at Canal Park, Akron). Students can make reservations for both buses by bringing their money to the main office on Tuesday, June 4th through Thursday, June 6th between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
     
  • Spirit Shop. The Spirit Shop will be open on Tuesday, June 4th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.  It will then be closed during the remainder of June and July for maintenance and restocking. It will reopen in August per the following schedule:
    • Aug 5 – 8: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
    • Aug 10: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
    • Aug 12 - 16: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
    • Aug 19 - 20: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Thrift Store. Roger Bacon’s St. Vincent de Paul Conference is collecting clean, gently used Roger Bacon spirit wear and uniform items for our Thrift Store next year. Please bring any donations to the Main Office. If you have questions, contact Serenity Murphy at smurphy@rogerbacon.org or Ms. Vehorn at jvehorn@rogerbacon.org.

Summer Camps and High School Placement Test Prep Course

  • There are a variety of summer camps being offered at Roger Bacon this summer, including a High School Placement Test Prep Course.  Dates for the camps and course are as follows:
    • Musical Theater:  June 3 - 7 (Grades 6-8)
    • Underwater Hockey:  June 10 - 14 (Grades 6-8)
    • Boys Basketball:  June 10 - 13 (Grades 2-6); June 17-20 (Grades 7-9)
    • Girls Basketball:  June 17 - 20 (Grades 3-9)
    • Girls Volleyball:  July 8 - 11 (Grades 3-8)
    • High School Placement Prep Course: July 29 - August 2 & August 5 - 9 (Grade 8)

Summer Meals Program

  • The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County are teaming up with UMC Food Ministry to provide meals and snacks for children 18 and younger. People ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals. The Summer Meals program, sponsored by the USDA and Ohio Department of Education, runs weekdays from June 3rd through August 16th* at the Main Library and the following library locations:
  1. Main Library (Children’s Learning Center and TeenSpot): Meal at noon, snack at 3 pm
  2. Avondale Branch: Meal at 12:30 pm, snack at 3:30 pm
  3. Bond Hill Branch: Meal at 1:00 pm, snack at 4:00 pm
  4. College Hill Branch: Meal at 4:15 pm
  5. Covedale Branch: Meal at 3:00 pm
  6. Deer Park Branch: Meal at 12:30 pm, snack at 4:00 pm (service ends Aug 12th)
  7. Elmwood Place Branch: Meal at 1:00 pm (service ends Aug 14th)
  8. Groesbeck Branch: Meal at 12:30 pm
  9. Madisonville Branch: Meal at 12:30 pm, snack 4:15 pm
  10. Mt. Healthy Branch: Meal at 1:00 pm (Monday–Thursday, June 3-July 11 only)
  11. North Central Branch: Meal at 12:30 pm (service ends Aug 14th)
  12. Pleasant Ridge Branch: Meal at 3:00 pm
  13. Reading Branch: Snack at 1:30 pm, meal at 4:30 pm
  14. St. Bernard Branch: Meal at 12:30 pm, snack at 4:30 pm (service ends Aug. 14th)
  15. Walnut Hills Branch: Meal at 4:00 pm
  16. West End Branch: Meal at 1:00 pm, snack at 4:00 pm
