Spartans Named National Merit Scholars
Congratulations are in order for Tony Luken '16 and Sam Johnstone '16! They were named 2016 National Merit Scholars this week. This means that they were placed in the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
"These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their school play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation" commented a spokesperson from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
While neither Spartan has decided on their college plans, both Tony and Sam are leaning towards studying Engineering next year.
We are very proud of them and all of their accomplishments!
