Spartans meet an Astronaut!
On Wednesday, October 18th a group of juniors and seniors had the opportunity to meet astronaut, Colonel Gregory at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH.
The Spartans started off the day by watching Hidden Figures, at the base on the largest screen in Southwest Ohio. The opportunity to watch this movie as a group along with other students from the area was inspiring. Ms. Flading from Admissions commented, "It was neat to see younger kids watching this movie about women in STEM fields and see them so engaged. I hope that some of our students were inspired by the story shown in Hidden Figures and especially Colonel Gregory's story of never settling in life."
After the film, Colonel Frederick Gregory talked about his life and how he ended up in a STEM field. He suggested to the students, never give up, keep
learning, and to always be a dreamer.
