Spartans Day of Giving!
Meet our awesome Project Leaders for the St. Francis Day of Giving – Julia Mumper, Andy Gruenwald and Christine Hoffmann! They are leading the Roger Bacon community in it’s first-ever “Day of Giving” on the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, October 4, 2017. Starting the week of Homecoming, Spartans are encouraged to dig into their closets and pantries. We are looking for used dress shoes, used tennis shoes, used coats, used hoodies, used jackets, and certain food and toiletries items. For a complete list, click here.
After searching your houses, just bring them into flex so they can be counted. Then, place them in the blue collection bins. The class who collects the most earns a dress down day. Community Outreach will have blue bins at the stadium for the football Homecoming game – so bring your items to the game and root the Spartans to victory.
We know that our father Saint Francis reached out to all around him, showing deep-hearted compassion through generous service. He saw Jesus Christ in all people. In that, Francis discovered paradoxical beauty “that in giving we receive, in pardoning we are pardon and dying that we are born to eternal life.”
Saint Francis of Assisi, pray for us.
