Spartan Baseball is on a roll!
The Roger Bacon Baseball team is now 7-9, with a chance to win the GCL crown. The Spartans are currently riding a five game win streak, that extends from Wednesday of spring break. The Spartans beat Carroll 6-3, behind pitching from Tyler Bullock '20. Then Thursday they came back three runs down in the 7th to win against GCL rival, Alter. The Spartans were led by Chris Kugele '18 on the mound and Tyler Bullock and Brian Schnedl '17 behind the plate. The final score was 7-6.
The Spartans downed Carroll again on April 21, 8-3. For his first varsity win, Zak Cappel '19 pitched to down the Patriots and was helped with the save
by Jake Speed '19. Josh Brenner '17 and Tyler Bullock '20 were the hitting leaders on the day.
At the Red's Showcase Friday morning, the Spartans beat Clark Montessori 6-3 with the help from the #meninthepen Chris Childers '17, Charlie Hungler '18 and Zach Whitton '17.
On Monday night, the Spartans took on Purcell Marian and won 13-3. Tyler Bullock was the winning pitcher with 4 strike-outs and complete game. Jeordon Kuderer '17 had a great hitting game 2-3, 3 RBIs.
The Spartans look to continue their streak tonight against St. Xavier, then tomorrow at Purcell. Followed up on Thursday against Winton Woods and Fenwick
on Friday at 4:30.
