Noor Essakalli ’20, applied this past summer for an apprenticeship with Artworks and was selected out of 300 applicants. “I was shocked and surprised, I was 1 of 100 who had the chance to work on murals around Cincinnati. I was able to gain a lot of experience, new skills and I got to meet so many different people along the way.”

Noor worked from June through August, 9AM -1PM, Monday through Friday at the corner of Blair and Reading Rd. on the mural. The group of apprentices were led by artists who work for Artworks to grid, draw and paint the pre-designed mural.

Noor’s fantastic work was recognized recently at a ceremony attended by many people in the community. She was also asked to come back and paint the sidewalk in Fleishman Gardens in Avondale.

Noor plans on majoring in Art in college and is mainly interested in Photography and Film. Great work Spartan!
