RB Hairless Heroes
On Monday, February 3, Roger Bacon raised $975.60 for the Saint Baldrick Foundation to help conquer childhood cancer. Thirty-four students and faculty members bravely volunteered to have their hair cut or shaved in our second annual RB Hairless Hero Day. Each Spartan sold tickets to have their head shaved or hair cut. Hair was donated to help make wigs for children experiencing hair loss from cancer treatment or other illnesses. Those who bought tickets from these Hairless Heroes were placed into a lottery for a chance to shave/cut the hair of their Hero (alongside an adult supervisor).
Project leaders Anna Merz '20, Lucas Strunc '20, and Sam Mumper '21 planned and organized the entire process, from sign-ups and fundraising to the final event. All three also volunteered to have their own hair cut or shaved! Their dedication and enthusiasm made this event possible.
