Feature Film Shot at Roger Bacon
The Killing of a Sacred Deer, a feature film starring Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman, was shot in several Cincinnati locations, including Roger Bacon High School. Film Cincinnati, contacted area schools over the summer to scout sites for the movie, and Roger Bacon was selected.
Acclaimed Director, Yorgos Lanthimos, and his crew were on campus Tuesday, September 27 to film several scenes for the movie. Not only will the school be in the film, but faculty, staff and students had the opportunity to apply as extras.
The selection of Roger Bacon High School comes as no surprise to Alyssa Flading ’05 who works in the Admissions and Communications Office. “With all of the filming happening in Cincinnati I thought it was only a matter of time before we were noticed. This is a vibrant and historic building, and our new Fine Arts Center blends the old with the new.”
Classes were canceled on Tuesday, September 27 to accommodate all of the equipment, crew, and actors and the school reopened on Wednesday, September 28.
