Class of 2017 Events

The end of the school year is quickly approaching. The Class of 2017 has quite a few events coming up, in the next month. Below is the schedule of events and more information about graduation, graduation mass, and senior week.

Academic Awards Ceremony: May 9

Senior Picnic: May 12

Service/Awards Assembly: May 17

Senior Lock-In: May 18

Last Day for Seniors: May 19

Senior Exams: May 22-23

Seniors may be exempt from final exams if they have an average of 90% or better in a subject. Individual teachers may make exceptions. Seniors are to report to school at the regular time and exams will end at 11:30AM.

Graduation Practice: May 31

All seniors must report for graduation practice on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 8:30AM in the RB cafeteria. Practice will conclude by approximately 10:30. The normal school dress code must be obeyed this day. Failure to attend practice may result in your son or daughter not being able to participate in commencement.

Graduation Mass/ Senior Awards: June 1

The graduation mass and awards ceremony will be Thursday, June 1 2017 at 8:30AM. The mass and awards ceremony will take place in the Carol Dauwe Fine Arts Center. Each senior is welcome to bring two guests, usually parents. It is not appropriate for a graduate to bring a boyfriend or girlfriend. Guests should arrive at Roger Bacon no later than 8:20AM. Seniors will process to the Fine Arts Center from the gymnasium. They should meet in the Fogarty Center no later than 8:10AM. Caps and gowns are to be worn for mass and the appropriate attire that was mentioned earlier must be adhered to as well.

The awards ceremony will immediately follow mass. The program will conclude at approximately 10:30AM. All seniors and their guests are invited to join us for a reception afterwards in the high school cafeteria.

Graduation: June 2

Graduation will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 8:00PM in the Fogarty Center. Seniors are to report to the cafeteria no later than 7:30PM, and commencement exercises will begin promptly at 8:00PM.

Each senior will be receiving seven (7) tickets. Guests' attendance at graduation will be by ticket only. Only seniors who are on course to actually graduate and participate in the program will be receiving tickets. Additionally, if you will not be using all seven tickets, please return any extra tickets you may have in order that larger families may be accommodated.

The graduation exercises are a formal occasion, and appropriate behavior of the graduates and guests is expected.In order to allow each student to have his or her moment of glory, and in keeping with solemnity of the occasion, we ask that all guests refrain from cheering, shouting, or any other kinds of verbal displays until invited to do so.
