Bron Bacevich Stadium Set to Reopen Ahead of Schedule

Three weeks ago, we were told the Home of the Spartans, Bron Bacevich Stadium, was out of commission for the season. We set an aggressive goal to reopen and have a new field for our students by the last regularly scheduled home football game on October 21. However, we are no longer following that timeline.

Roger Bacon is happy to report that Bron Bacevich Stadium is up and running.  The first games played on the new turf were our home soccer games on Monday, September 26. This is due, in part, to the generosity and response to the #RBrising campaign. Steve Schad, Principal of Roger Bacon High School said, “It is truly overwhelming and heartwarming what our alumni have done for the school and our current students. We are a family, and in challenging times, family members take care of each other. That is exactly what happened, and we sincerely appreciate all the contributions of time, talent and treasure.”

This amazing turnaround would not have been possible without the remarkable professionals at the Motz Group. The Motz Group had a crew and a half working 12 hour days to replace the turf field. Their diligence and dedication is truly appreciated – we cannot thank them enough.

Roger Bacon’s Homecoming festivities will be particularly special this year. While we originally planned on postponing these events, they will proceed as scheduled on October 7. In addition to our annual parade through St. Bernard, crowning of king and queen, and football game, all Spartans are invited for the official dedication and blessing of the new field. We hope that you join us and see exactly what your support accomplished.

Thank you to everyone who donated money, worked tirelessly, provided lunches, and sent prayers. Because of you, RB is definitely on the rise.
