Boys' basketball goes 2-1 over big GCL weekend

The Boys’ Basketball team had two big games this weekend. Thank you to the Spartan Army for showing up in force and providing a great home atmosphere for both games. Friday night resulted in a critical win over league rival Purcell. It was a close contest from start to finish, but the Spartans looked cool, controlled and in charge even when the score was tight. In the end, Roger Bacon secured a 58-47 victory.

Saturday night was another GCL battle, this time against LaSalle. Even after a big Friday night, the Spartan Army did not disappoint and you showed up loud and proud to support the team. Once again it was a close, hard-fought game, with both teams playing aggressive, relentless defense. In the end, LaSalle was able to execute a few big plays at the end of the half and of the third quarter which helped them escape with a 53-44 victory in a game that was closer than the score may indicate.

On behalf of Coach Neal and the players I want to thank all of you who continue to come to the games. Your excitement, enthusiasm and support is a big part of the reason why Roger Bacon basketball is one of the premier programs in the city.
