2019 Joseph A. Kneip Distinguished Service Award - Brian Neal

2019 Joseph A. Kneip Distinguished Service Award - Brian Neal

Congratulations to Mr. Brian Neal ’90, for receiving the 2019 Joseph A. Kneip Faculty/Staff Distinguished Service Award.

This award was established in honor of Joe Kneip, who graduated from Roger Bacon in 1952 and started teaching English and Social Studies at Roger Bacon in 1958 for the next 37 years. He valued the well-being of his students above all else and had profound respect for his fellow colleagues. This is the highest award for honoring distinguished service by our faculty and staff.

Brian received multiple nominations and was elected unanimously by a committee consisting of past winners of the award. He was recognized for heading the math department and his long-term contributions as the winningest boys basketball coach in the history of Roger Bacon. As stated in one of his nominations, “Brian’s commitment to RBHS is a model for others to follow because Brian has balanced his family life with his duties at school. Brian is a wonderful member of the Roger Bacon family and his efforts should not go unnoticed.”

He joins a long list of Roger Bacon legends, including his father, Wes Neal. They are the first father/son duo to receive this honor.

Congratulations, Coach Neal!
