2018 Reconciliation Service

2018 Reconciliation Service

On Tuesday, December 12, the entire Roger Bacon student body and staff were invited to a short prayer service to reflect on God’s grace. There were a few student testimonies about forgiveness, videos, and live music throughout the reconciliation service. Ten Franciscan Friars were on hand for confession and the lines were quite long with students wanting to participate in the sacrament.

Students also had the opportunity to pick up a rock as a symbol of their sins. After they left confession, students were encouraged to drop their rock in a basket in front of the manger scene in the main lobby as a recognition of their forgiven sins. According to Jeannate Ingram ’21, “I thought the rock was a very unique experience. It was really cool to be able to leave the rock behind as a symbol of forgiveness.”
