Evening for Excellence is Roger Bacon’s dinner auction which takes place each spring.  It is the school’s largest fundraising event and the most important social event of the year.  The auction is designed to offer our supporters a fun and memorable evening with good food and friends while we build relationships with our parents and constituents.  The evening includes a silent auction, Basket Boutique, EFE Surprise, Grand Raffle, Split-the-Pot and additional special booths set up for the themed event.  The night’s highlight is the oral auction where guests bid on items valued at $300 to over $1000.  The proceeds from this premier event benefit our students with financial aid, scholarships and support for our technology program.

What is a Gift Gathering Party?

A Gift Gathering Party is a party hosted by Roger Bacon parents and alumni.  The party may be evening cocktails, an afternoon bar-b-q or a Sunday brunch.  Guests are asked to bring a gift to be included at Evening for Excellence, Roger Bacon’s premier fundraising event. 

What Gift Should I Bring?

There are many possibilities and all are appreciated!  Bring something that you would be willing to bid on at the Silent Auction…something fancy, something unique, something interesting or just something fun! Go together with a group for a larger gift. Gift certificates and cash are always welcomed.  Every donation is important and key to our success.  Below are some suggestions and ideas. 

Electronics: Microwave, digital camera, I-Pod, laptop computer, printer, game system

Sports & Leisure: Tickets to Reds or Bengal games, XU or UC tickets, a round of golf, bowling certificate, Kentucky Speedway, autographed pictures or memorabilia

Restaurant/Hotel: Gift certificate to any restaurant, your favorite hotel or bed and breakfast

Personal: Jewelry, watches, hair salons, spa certificates, boutique gift certificates, department store gift cards

Vacation: Use of your condominium or cabin for a week/weekend

Entertainment: Tickets to movies, concerts, shows, symphony

Automotive: Auto repair gift certificate or tune-up, car wash booklet

Outdoors: Lawn care, gardening supplies, grass trimmer, gas grill, patio furniture, flower and garden certificates, corn hole set

Home: Kitchen appliances, bar supplies, wine glasses

House Repairs: Any general contract work; electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting or wallpapering

Food: Host a dinner party, gift certificate for a deli tray, steaks for a grill out or a basket of cheer!  

Students will receive merit points for any gift of $25 or more.  250 merits per $25 value.
